After years of preparation supported by input from hundreds of residents Tollerton’s Neighbourhood Plan is reaching the final stages of development.
Earlier this year the draft plan was reviewed by an independent examiner. This is a requirement of the legal process for developing a neighbourhood plan. The examiner recommended significant changes to the draft plan.
All of the examiner’s recommendations have been carefully considered and, following discussions with Rushcliffe Borough Council, a revised plan has been prepared.
Next steps
RBC is now responsible for conducting village wide consultation on the revised plan, which is expected to be held during the Autumn. RBC may then make further amendments before putting the plan to Tollerton residents to have the final say through a referendum.
As a reminder the Neighbourhood Plan sets out what we want building and development to look like and how it needs to respect the things that are important to us in our village and around. It doesn’t set out what land will or won’t be built on and it can’t override what’s already decided in Rushcliffe Borough Council’s Local Plan.
