Tollerton Trees

The village’s trees are perfect neighbours, working silently and tirelessly to clean the air, provide vital cooling shade and support wildlife. Our trees give Tollerton its distinctive rural character and they even increase the value of our houses by making the village more attractive.

That’s why the parish council wants to do all it can to preserve the trees that we already have and to plant lots more trees in the village. The council has adopted this plan for doing just that.

The plan will monitor the health of existing communal trees, preserve important trees that make the village distinctive, e.g. because they’ve become treasured landmarks, and plant many more new village trees.

Standing Orders

The Council and its committees and officers will make decisions in accordance with the Authority’s standing orders, policies and governing principles.

Reserves Policy

Tollerton Parish Council is required to maintain adequate Financial Reserves to meet the needs of the Parish Council.  The purpose of this policy is to set out how the Council will determine and review the level of Reserves.

Risk Management Statement

Tollerton Parish Council’s Risk Management Policy is to identify the risks within the council’s areas of responsibility and to record the main controls and any improvements deemed necessary.

Grant Aid Policy

This policy sets out how the Parish Council may provide financial assistance and support to local community groups which are set up to promote village life for Tollerton residents.

GDPR Privacy Policy

Tollerton Parish Council is committed to keeping your personal data safe and secure. As part of this commitment, we’ve updated our GDPR/Privacy Policy to meet the high standards of the new European data protection law, known as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Complaints Policy

This policy sets out how Tollerton Parish Council will consider and respond to expressions of dissatisfaction about facilities or services provided by the Council or persons or bodies acting on behalf of the Council.

Equal Opportunities Policy

Equal opportunity means that all people will be treated equally or similarly and not disadvantaged by prejudices or bias. This Policy sets out the Parish Council’s commitment to fairness of opportunity and equality.

Character, Heritage and Conservation Strategy

Tollerton has a strong sense of identity and a priority to enhance the rural characteristics of the village as part of the parish plan.  The parish council has adopted this strategy to further this priority.

NB – the parish council now has an emerging Neighbourhood Plan Policy. 

Community Identity and Communication Policy

Our Community Identity Policy helps to maintain the identity and rural characteristics of Tollerton through the use of consistency of colours, planting and ‘street furniture.’

Land and Buildings Policy

This Policy sets out how the Council will purchase and sell land and buildings

Honorary Freedom Policy

The Council may admit persons of distinction who have rendered eminent service to Tollerton to be honorary freemen or honorary freewomen of Tollerton. This Policy sets out recommendations relating to the selection and appointment process for Honorary Freemen and the Granting of Freedom of the Parish to individuals or organisations.
