The Parish Council has written to all members of Rushcliffe’s Cabinet urging them to make use of available time to improve the SPD / Masterplan before adopting it.
Rushcliffe Borough Council’s Cabinet are due to adopt a revised SPD at their meeting on Tuesday 13 January 2026. Minimal changes have been made to the revised SPD, and many of the concerns of Tollerton residents remain unaddressed.
Ten years in the making, the Borough Council is in danger of accepting an incomplete document, that has been rushed through in the last few months, and for which there are still significant outstanding concerns, and very real impacts on the live’s of residents.
These concerns were set out in greater detail in the comments sent in by Tollerton Parish Council which go well beyond the summary attached to the Cabinet report. The comments were based on specialist independent input and the Parish Council continues to take appropriate advice on these matters.
The parish Council has encouraged Rushcliffe Councillors to consider these in full, along with those submitted by the County Council and to pause the process to allow for further work to be undertaken to address the issues that have a very real impact on the lives of existing residents and would impact on those moving into the new development.

By either the timescales set out in the Rushcliffe Cabinet report, or even the planning performance agreement entered into with the developers there is ample time available to improve on the current SPD document before it is agreed, so that it can be properly considered a masterplan as envisaged in the Local Plan
– and to ensure that if it must be built that the site offers a great place with great lifestyle for the future.
